Georgie’s story.

My journey into dog training started when I was in a completely different line of work. I was unfulfilled and wanted to find my true purpose. It wasn’t until I got my dog, Badger, that everything changed. Badger, a nervous and reactive rescue, needed lots of support, confidence, and patience. I felt like I was failing him, which led me to understand the daily struggles many dog owners face.

Through positive reinforcement and trick training, I found a way to help Badger and, in the process, profoundly bonded with him. I focused on his strengths, like his love for tricks, which transformed him into a confident and happy dog. This experience inspired me to help other dog owners overcome reactivity challenges whilst building an unbreakable bond.

With 15 years of dog training experience and five years working in rescue at places like Battersea and The Mayhew, I’ve gained a deep understanding of dogs, especially those that are struggling.

In these rescue roles, I often worked with dogs that were close to being euthanised, finding that enrichment activities, nose work and scent training were life-changing.

This taught me how to really understand what each dog needs, and I use this knowledge in my one-on-one sessions with reactive dogs.

The successes I’ve seen show that even the most challenging problems can improve with the right approach.

“Thanks for the training inspo Trick Woofs. I was tired but the challenge motivated me to hang out with my dog and give her some much needed mental stimulation since I was gone much of the day.”
